The local pioneers in the manure-to-energy industry have landed an additional $750,000 from investors for future digester projects.
Farm Power Northwest LLC, which builds anaerobic digesters that turn cow manure from nearby farms into energy, will apply the funding to a new project in Enumclaw and possibly to upgrading an existing Mount Vernon facility, CEO Daryl Maas said Wednesday.
Launched with a mixture of funds from state and federal grants and local investors, the company began seeking investments for new projects in August. Maas said 32 new investors and six existing investors took part in the securities offering.
Farm Power has an existing facility in Mount Vernon called Farm Power Rexville and plans to have its second digester in Lynden up and running by Thanksgiving.
